02Can I use the prescription medication in the kit at any time?
No, prescription medicines like antibiotics must only be used after a consultation with a TravelMedz healthcare provider. While you can confidently use the over-the-counter items for minor ailments, it is essential to consult our medical team before making use of certain supplies and equipment in the kit. This includes any prescription medication and antibiotics. This is important as a specialist must first ensure that it is the correct and safe treatment for your symptoms.
03Who are the doctors I will be speaking with?
Our telehealth service connects you with professionally accredited healthcare providers, all of whom are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
04Is the kit a replacement for travel insurance or an emergency service?
No. TravelMedz is not a comprehensive emergency medical service. The kit is designed to handle common, non-emergency health issues and is not a substitute for full medical care. Our doctors may refer you to a health facility, clinic or specialist in your destination country, should they deem it clinically necessary.
05How does the telehealth consultation work?
Consultations are conducted exclusively via telehealth, and you will be responsible for providing a stable internet connection and a suitable device. Users must accept the limitations of telehealth, which includes the inability of our doctors to perform a physical examination. Our service is delivered through a third-party platform, and while we strive for consistent access, we are not liable for disruptions caused by the provider.

No. The kit is for your personal use only and must not be shared, resold, or distributed. The medical advice provided is tailored to your individual health profile, which you provide upon registration.
